Six Flags America

What’s the upside to hanging upside down? Millions of people visit the park yearly and if they’re anything like us, we know it’s the best place to feel like a kid again! Prince George’s County joins only a few select American counties to feature a Six Flags America theme park and we're the largest amusement park in the state of Maryland.

Residents and visitors comprise the throngs of thrill-seekers clamoring to get a seat on some of the scariest, most intense rides on the East Coast. We’re talking skyscraper, superhero heights with nail-biting, hairpin twists and turns. Seven world-class roller coasters such as Superman: Ride of Steel, one of the tallest coasters on the East Coast; Batwing, Maryland’s first flying coaster; and the classic wooden Wild One are for the adventurous.

Families with little children and adults who prefer less extreme rides also have an array of choices that are super fun. Elmer's Around the World in 80 Seconds is a magical balloon ride and Foghorn Leghorn's Tinseltown Train takes kids on a whimsical tour of Hollywood.

The adrenaline rush continues at Hurricane Harbor waterpark, a bonus extension within Six Flags for visitors seeking to beat the heat by making a splash. Towering waterslides, a 65,000-gallon pool, the six-story funnel of fun Tornado, tubing, beaching, and a manmade river are all part of the hype!

Six Flags America features more than 100 exciting rides, games, shows, and attractions plus a festive Mardi Gras section that celebrates culture and entertainment. The park is open from April through October and limited holiday schedules.
